The Bell & Ross Story
Bell & Ross is a French watch company that was founded by the French and Swiss designer Bruno Belamich and businessman Carlos A. Rosillo.
The brand officially hit the stage in 1992, and the first watches were designed by Belamich and Rosillo and made by a German watchmaker, Sinn.
Watches such as the BR Instrument have been designed to replicate the shape of a cockpit instrument taken from an aircraft. The BR02 range caters to diving professionals through the use of high-visibility dials and cases that boast water resistance up to 1000 meters.
In 2002, Bell & Ross opened its own independent production facilities in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.
The aesthetic appeal of Bell & Ross is mirrored in their four design principles, namely optimal water resistance, highly accurate Swiss mechanical movements like the ETA Valjoux, clear visual indicators, such as those found on aircraft instrument panels, and special functions intended for specific uses.
From the Manufacturer
Belamich and Rosillo, two boyhood friends, formed the iconic Bell and Ross brand in 1993. Known for its uncompromising aesthetic, legible dials and technologically innovative material, the Bell and Ross brand has a loyal following that continues to grow. Case: Black PVD coated stainless steel, Caseback: Screw-in, Dial: Grey, Hands: Black, Markers: Black indices and dots, Calendar: Date display window between the 4 and 5 o'clock position, Subdials: Two, small seconds at the 3 o'clock position and a chronograph 30 minute counter at the 9 o'clock position, Strap: Grey rubber, Clasp: Pin buckle, Crystal: Sapphire, Crown: Push/pull, Movement: Swiss automatic, Water resistance: 10 ATM/100 meters/330 feet, Case measurements: 42 mm wide x 42 mm long x 13 mm thick, Strap measurements: 33 mm wide x 8 inches long, Box measurements: 6 inches wide x 12 inches long x 3 inches high, Model: BR 03-94 Commando. All measurements are approximate and may vary slightly from the listed dimensions. Men's watch bands can be sized to fit 7.5-inch to 8.5-inch wrists. Automatic movement winds with the movement of your arm. It is recommended that you wind the watch every two weeks. A screw-down crown (knob) creates a water-resistant seal. To unscrew the crown, turn counter-clockwise and pull/push into position to set time, date, and other functions. To close the crown, press it against the case and turn clockwise.
